Customisable Tapo App Icon
This is only a small and presumably easy change I'm requesting and it's to do with the app, so hopefully it's in the right place.
It would be great if the Tapo App Icon changed to a black or grey background with the blue logo when using the new iOS 18 feature that lets you customise app icons into light or dark mode. As of now, all my other apps change into dark mode but the Tapo App retains its white background. This could be achieved by either implementing a "change app icon" function within the app itself (which would be preferred since you could add an array of various colour themes, holiday themes and styles for the app icon that can be chosen manually within the app) or by allowing iOS to change it to dark mode using the new iOS feature.
thanks!

What's the version of your Tapo app? The latest version has adapted to the home screen Customize feature in iOS 18. For example when selecting the dark mode, the background of the Tapo app icon will change to black.

@Wayne-TP I'm on version 3.7.106 I'm sure. I've updated as much as it would let me. It seems to be the case only when the app icons are set to large but when set to small it stays white (on my device at least).

I checked with colleagues and it's the same on several iPhones, Tapo app icon color follows the home screen customize settings.
We do notice something, on a phone that has nearly reached full storage, the app icon theme does not switch smoothly, and sometimes many app icons show nothing/blank or do not follow the chosen theme. You may check if that's your case.
Try to restart the phone, delete and reinstall the app.

@Wayne-TP That storage scenario is strange. I have plenty of storage, more than half of what my phone has. I'm currently on the iPhone 14 Pro, if you know anyone that has this device to try. I've just deleted and reinstalled the app and rebooted my phone but the app still doesn't switch to dark mode when the icons are set to small — it retains the white background and only dims slightly. Is there a way I can attach a screen recording to show you what's happening? It only happens with the Tapo app so that's why I thought it was more likely to be an app issue rather than a system one but it could be a system issue. It's strange that it's the only app affected on my device. Just for clarification, I'm going to my Home Screen, long pressing until "edit" comes up at the top left, pressing "customise" and then selecting "small" icons and then switching to dark. If I click "large" icons then select dark it changes successfully to a dark background.
Thanks.

Do you use the production app or a beta version? Did you ever use Testflight to install Tapo app?

What's the model, iOS version of your iPhone?
What's the Tapo app version? Please confirm whether you're using a beta version (downloaded from Testflight) or the production version.
