Tapo C210 firmware not updating
Tapo C210 firmware not updating

I got 2 c210. One of them is updated to 1.4.2 while the other one still is in 1.3.11 and shows no update whenever i check for firmware update. Bought both of them together as well. Why is your system so laggy and glitchy? Is there a way to push the update manually?

Hi,
The new firmware(1.4.4) of the Tapo C210 is being released now, some Tapo C210 cameras may not detect it because we release the firmware gradually. We suggest waiting patiently for the new firmware if there is no problem with the current version.

I have several Tapo C210 cameras, and overall had little to no issues in the past with setting up or the performance of the camera.
I'm now experiencing my first real issue with this camera model.
It is a firmware updating issue similar, but not exactly the same, to what has been previously raised by other users.
I understand the issue to be having two or more Tapo C210 cameras, and some detect the new 1.4.4 firmware, but some Tapo C210's do not. The solution offered was to
"wait patiently for the new firmware to be fully released."
The issue I'm experiencing is that all my Tapo C210 cameras detect the new 1.4.4 firmware, and some successfully update to the newly released 1.4.4 firmware, but strangely, some do not. The Tapo app continually displays that there is a firmare version 1.4.4 available for this camera, however, no matter how many times I press the update button, the app displays the normal wording, updating..., but it always results in, Failed to update, please try again later.
Have rebooted router and camera several times, tried changing the DNS, to no avail.
I don't think waiting patiently for the new firmware to be fully released will assist in resolving this issue.

Hi,
For the cameras that can't update to the new firmware, please try to factory reset it, enable a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, reconfigure the camera with another phone, connect it to the hotspot Wi-Fi, and check if you can update the firmware successfully after configuring it.

Hi,
Typically, updating the firmware won't take so long. If your Tapo C210 has a solid green light, you can try to force close the Tapo app, and then log in to it again to check if the camera has updated successfully.

Hi,
Can you send us a picture of the page showing firmware updating?
Is the LED on the camera solid green?
Please send me(@Solla-topee) your camera's MAC address via a private message for further analysis. Thanks!
