I have a fan with a dimmable LED. The fan ran off a standard single pole wall switch and used a handheld remote control for the fan speed and LED. I replaced the switch with an HS200 and it trips the breaker. I believe the switch may be incompatible even though I just want it to turn power on and off and continue using the remote. 

Would the HS220 with dimming control be compatible? Do I have any options here? Just want it to do on/off and use the remote control. TIA
