Cannot reset S200B
Cannot reset S200B
I am trying to setup a new switch. It failed to connect to the H200 hub - I have tried to reset it but cannot get it to the flashing LEDs as per instructions (5 sec press then 3 quicks presses). I have tried removing the battery as well as rebooting the hub multiple times. Is there any other way to reset it?
Thanks

Is this S200B same region code (e.g. US/EU/AU, etc) as the H200 hub? Devices with different region codes run at different frequencies and cannot be used together.
What is the state of the device LED when you try to reset it? Stay solid green? Try to change a battery if you have a spare one and make sure the back cover is firmly locked.

I believe to have the same issue as you, @JonNz.
The LED is usually in it's off state, I hold down for 5 seconds and for each second it blinks. I then I let go and the light remains stable. Then I quickly press 3 times as per the instruction, and it blinks once — and turns off in it’s usual off state with no blinking, or anything.
I'm starting to think that this may be a location-based issue? Assuming you are from NZ from username as I am too. I am looking at getting a replacement, however I fear I will run into the same issue with the product.

Are you able to pair this smart button to the hub in this case? How to Pair and Connect Tapo Sensors, Buttons and Other Devices to Tapo Hub
Change the battery if you have a spare one.
*Make sure to check whether the Tapo hub and the smart button are the same region version (e.g. EU, US, AU, etc).

I've got the same issue here. The difference seems to be that mine was working fine for over a month, then it suddenly decided to stop operating my bulb (L510B). Resting does not work, rebooting does not work, region codes are fine. I've emailed support as the device is less than 5 weeks old, so I hope to get it swapped.
Hello all btw :)

Did the led indicator on your smart button change state when you reset it? Which part did you get stuck on?

Hey, the LED state is usually steady on. I'd reinsert the battery to let the unit reboot, the LED stays green. If you press the button or twist it sometimes the LED would go off and that's when I'd try the reset procedure. When I press and hold for 5 seconds the LED would turn back green within 2-3 seconds and then the x3 presses would do nothing.
it just seems that it's in a complete faulty state and nothing responds normally. I did contact support and they suggested the reset procedure or RMA. I tried Amazon customer service and they have refunded me, they will collect the faulty unit and I have placed an order for a new button.
bit of a faff but I hope if I have any issues again that the reset procedure will work normally.

not sure I understand what you mean, but as far as I can tell there's no other reset you can do. I did look on the board and couldn't see a hard reset button.

In some rare cases, the LED indicator may fail to toggle correctly or not light up at all, so it will look like the device has not reset successfully.
