C425 terrible battery life
C425 terrible battery life
The C425 is supposed to have a huge battery but it lasts for just under 2 weeks. I've had to charge it twice now, this month.
My suspicion is that is is picking up constant movement in the kitchen. I've set both the recording settings and notification settings to only trigger between 23.30 and 6.00 the next day and that seems to work (I have no notifications or recordings outside of this time window), but my suspicion is that the camera is still detecting at all hours (just not notifying or recording) because I hear a little click when I walk up to the camera during the day (i.e. outside of the scheduled time).
I really want the camera to be in sleep mode throughout the day (unless I change the alarm settings) and only awake from 23.30 to 6.00 the next day.
I'm also a little bit confused about the difference between the settings I configure in the device, and the settings I configure in "Home mode" and "Away mode". I've set the home mode to the same settings as above, just to be sure.
I'd appreciate any ideas / assistance with this problem.

No, it went from 100% to 88% in 3 days. I've now had it for 10 days and it's at 70%. Based on the, I'm only going to get just over a month of use.
I don't have any automations, though I notice that the spotlight automatically turns on when I view the feed at night. Not sure why it died so but I'll check it out.

Thanks, I'm monitoring it. I had purchased a second unit, so I'll see how it stacks up against that one to see if it's a problem or user error. Will let you know.

After setting the privacy mode automation, the C425 camera loses about 2% battery each day. I can live with that since that is nearly 2 months and all I have to do is plug a USB cable in (which I do via a portably battery bank).

@SebbyMax I clicked "Smart", "Automation", Add new. I added a trigger for "When" and chose "Time of day". I left "If" unchanged. I set "Then" to "Enable privacy mode" (or "Disable privacy mode"). So, I created two automations in total:
When: 6.00. Then: Enable privacy mode
When: 23:30. Then: Disable privacy mode
I had to choose which camera to control, so I presume if I had multiple cameras I'd have to individually select each camera.
