I also have a problem with the sound on my Tapo C500. There is noise when receiving audio, and it is barely audible. I also request a firmware update.

Hi,
Currently, there is no new firmware for the Tapo C500 to improve the audio quality. We suggest referring to the following steps to troubleshoot.


    1. Make sure that there are no obstructions covering the microphone and speaker openings on the camera.
    2. Confirm the microphone and speaker volume of the camera are set at a high level on our app.
    3. Ensure the camera is positioned to allow clear and unobstructed sound reception. Avoid placing it in enclosed spaces or near surfaces that may reflect sound.
    4. Test the audio with your mobile device positioned away from the camera, preferably in a different room. The proximity between the phone and camera during a voice call can cause audio feedback.

I am facing the same problem with my C500 camera.

I purchased the camera last week, and I have noticed that its microphone quality is very poor. The sound recorded and played back on my cellphone is very low, making it difficult to understand what is being said.

I attempted to record my daughter speaking with me, but it is impossible to comprehend the audio.

Additioonally, there is a persistent clicking noise.

 

Could you please assist me with this issue?
