Model: Tapo C500
Hardware Version: V7
Firmware Version: 1.1.3 Build 231213 Rel.37124n

I am using the C500 camera and would like non-Tapo devices to respond to the motion detection of the camera via Google Home automation. How can I/we thus have Google Home work with the motion detection trigger of the C500 camera? (as I don't know/think it is currently available when 'programming' it in the Google Home (Script Editor).

  @Heems

Hi,
Currently, the Tapo camera does not support the feature to work as a trigger on the Google Home>Automation entry. While we don't have any specific details that I can share about if this feature can come to the product or when it might, I'll log the feature request and pass it along to the team to evaluate.
I moved this conversation into the ‘Feature Request (Tapo)' area for better visibility, and if other users have the same request, please vote on this thread or leave your comments.
Best Regards

It would be very useful to support this feature, since you cannot use motion detection to trigger any action if you won't notice (for any reason) the push notification. Other use case is that you purposefully want to trigger an action when the camera sees a person. (like turn on lights if its night time etc..) Yes I know there are workarounds for that, but wouldn't it be a little advance in the market (of home automation) as well?

  @Heems Adding my 2 cents on the topic as well. Capturing motion events in Google Home would be a huge benefit. Right now I'm forced to use a TP-link switch to capture events. Please consider for a future update
