I also need this feature for the same reasons. I'm already looking for another brand of cameras now.

Yes I would want this ...

This is an option is on other manufactures outdoor cameras.
It allows for other external lighting to be use to prevent overexposure of the image from items close to the camera and glass/refective items.
The triggers of shadows would be seen by the user and then select Internal IR if no other light source is used.
Allowing the user to also trigger flood lighting through the automation function which is available on the app.

I've only had my C225 for less the 24 hours but as soon as the camera enabled night vision mode it became unusable as it could only see itself. I will try to reposition the camera to improve the situation but the ability to disable night vision would be a simple fix and the most desirable option. Especially if the camera is unable to tell which option provides the better image, then a user needs to be able to make that decision for the camera.

I haven't read the whole thread but I also want to be able to disable the IR emitter in night mode. As with several others I use my C225 cameras through a window and currently they are useless at night due to reflections

  @Solla-topee

I guess it goes back in the box to Amazon, then.

I guess it boils down to the camera module not being sensitive enough to pick up low light pictures? Even Wyze cameras will work in low light!

There other cameras out there with this option, so if TP Link doesn't think it is a problem, so be it!!

Hi,
Generally, if you have selected the Auto mode for Video Mode on the camera's Live View page, the camera will switch between Day/Night mode according to the light condition in the environment. If the camera switches to the Night mode, the IR LED will light up to help the camera capture more detail and clear images. If the IR LED is turned off in the Night mode, the camera may capture blurry or black images because of the low light or no light conditions.

Currently, to make the camera display a clear image in the Night mode, there is no plan to add the feature to turn off the IR light when the camera works in Night mode. However, we will keep logging the feature requests and forward them to the related team to evaluate.

Best Regards

Same issue when using nightmode. Want to disable infrared because of the reflection when behind a window.

IR emiters when behind glass is a killer.  It looks like it can't even disable night mode.. I am switchint to Tapo from Wyze.  This is such a basic feature and I can't believe it's not included.  I may have to resort to electrical tape over the IR emiters.. nasty solution to a problem that shouldn't exist.

Please consider adding this feature.

With Wyze doing something to break integration with 3rd party recording solutions, I can see this platform seeing an influx of new customers.  I have already ordered 6 cameras, a few of them are mounted indoors behind glass where I cannot have IR LEDs being as it just reflects back and washes out the picture completely.  Hoping that putting tape over the IR emiters is enough and that there isn't any internal light bleeding that would still reach the sensor..
