Privacy mode will not turn off
Privacy mode will not turn off
Privacy mode turns on by itself, when I press to turn off it clicks back over to privacy. I have the TC60 model. I need camera to record 24-7. Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi,
If the Privacy Mode turns on automatically:
1. Go to the Tapo app>Cameras tab>Home Mode or Away Mode page to check if your camera is included. If so, tap your camera and check if the Privacy Mode is enabled.
If your camera is included in the Home/Away Mode and the privacy mode is enabled, when tapping the Home/Away mode, the preset configurations will apply to your camera and the Privacy mode will turn on.
2. Go to the Tapo app>Smart tab>Automation page to check if there are entries to turn on the Privacy Mode on your camera.
Best Regards

Hi,
1. Please go to the Tapo app>Smart tab>Automation page to check if there are entries to turn on the Privacy Mode on your camera.
2. If not, try to factory reset the camera, reconfigure it, and do not add it to home/away mode and smart action entries, then check if the privacy mode on the camera will turn on automatically.

I'm having the same problem - the cameras I bought are the Tapo C200 model, they were working fine earlier when I was inside my dad's flat but now that I'm in my own home, I can't view the livestream at all, even though the cameras are connected because they keep sending me motion detection notifications. When I go into the camera live view, I can see the privacy mode automatically toggled on, but it won't let me turn it off. This is strange, because when I go into the same camera's settings, the privacy mode is toggled off for both of them. I've checked and there's no automation set up to turn privacy mode on, and I've rebooted both of them twice to no avail. At the moment I can't see anything happening in my dad's flat, rendering these cameras completely useless. I think they must have a glitch or something, there's no other explanation I can find for why they won't work.

Hi,
The problem may be related to the network connection, please connect your phone to other Wi-Fi networks or use mobile data and check if you can turn off the privacy mode. If the problem remains, please confirm:
1. Send me(@Solla-topee) the MAC address of your camera.
2. Can you share a video showing the reported issue?
3. What's the model number and OS version of your phone? What's the Tapo app version?
Best Regards

I have the same. It worked fine for a few days, now it puts itself into privacy mode all the time. I have tried everything mentioned in the thread without success.
Any other ideas? I'm just about to return the camera.

@Solla-topee I am having same problem with Tapo D230S1 door bell. It worked for 4 days, before getting stuck in the privacy mode. I have done resetting etc with issue persisting. i will be returning doorbell and 3 cameras. So disappointed. I really need a reliable system and this is not doing the job
