Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.12.0 Build 231121 Rel.092508

After updating my S200D button to version 1.12.0 Build 231121 Rel.092508, my button does not work correctly with any of my Tapo light switches / smart plugs.

 

Edit: In the device information section it shows my button as S200B, instead of S200D even though clearly bought an S200D. Could the firmware update have caused this?

 

Issues:

  • smart actions such as turning on / off light strips and smart plugs do not work
  • smart actions such as dimming light switches do not work
  • for context my timezone is Asia/Kuala Lumpur but the timestamp on the event log is 3hours and 40 minutes behind
    • for example if i press the S200D button at 9:49 am local time, timestamp in event logs in Tapo app shows 6:09 am
  • Device info shows model as S200B instead of S200D

 

 

Steps I have performed with no success

  • Reset the S200D button by pressing for 5 seconds, quick press button 3 times
  • Deleted the button from my Tapo app and adding it again with smart actions configured
  • Reset the S200D button by pressing the reset button for 5 seconds, quick press button 3 times

Try to restart the hub to resynchronize the device time both the hub and its sub-devices. Once the time is correct, try to run the automation again and monitor if it runs properly.

Wow! Rebooting the hub and then adding the button + automation steps again fixed it this time.

About the device model, do you still have the package box? What does the label say?

That's a good news! 

 

Did you check your order info? If it also says S200D, probably the seller mistakenly sent you the wrong model. Device info display in the App is the correct one.
