Model: Tapo C225
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.27

Hey, I have a selection of TAPO cameras, inside and outside.

Yesterday, I got a notification for a new firmware update available for one of two C225 I have, both version 1.0. while the other does not see a new firmware update?

1 - C225 is 1.0.27 Build 231107 Release 69776n (doesnt see an update)

2 - C225 is 1.0.28 Build 231214 Release 69164n (updated yesterday)

Tied all the usual, rebooting check for update etc.

Any ideas whats going on?

Hi,

Since we roll out the new firmware gradually, it's reasonable to see that some cameras detect and update to the new firmware, but some do not, if your cameras have the same model number and hardware version.
Don't worry the cameras with the old firmware version won't update, please wait patiently, and you can update the firmware on the Tapo app once the new firmware has been pushed to the cameras.

Best Regards

@Solla-topee I'm currently having this issue with my two V2 C225 cameras. One updated to V1.09 yesterday, the other is still reporting that it's on V1.07.

I will reply back when the other camera updates.

  @Grey_Area

Hi,
If you have any special scenarios or reasons that require you to upgrade to the latest firmware soon, please let me know the reason, and I'll forward it to the relevant team for evaluation to push the latest firmware to you. If the camera is working fine with firmware v1.0.7, it is recommended to wait patiently for the new official firmware release to your camera.
Best Regards

Hi,

The basic functions are the same on both versions, however, the Tapo C225 V2 supports integration with Apple HomeKit, and the package and product label was updated for the general product iteration.

Best Regards

Hi,
If the camera is working fine with firmware v1.0.7, it is recommended to wait patiently for the new official firmware release to your camera. If you want to use the new firmware on your Tapo C225 V2 now, please send me(@Solla-topee) the camera's MAC address via a private message.
Best Regards
