Repeated "E1" error. Not calibrating

I have installed 5 Kasa TRV's.
2 are working fine but I can't get the other 3 to calibrate.
I am using the correct adaptor and I have checked that the valve pin is moving freely.
It is quite difficult to get the adaptor to tighten and I am worried that if I try to hard it may break.
Any tips or suggestions?
What's the type of valve? Are these three the same as the working ones? If it is not M30 x 1.5, choose a proper connector instead.
If all five valves are the same type, use their connector on the non-working ones, see if it helps.
