Hi there,

We plan to install a couple of IP cams in our sport club, in order to check that people do not enter outside of normal opening hours.

I already have experisnce with several (non TPlink) cameras on my Synology NAS at home, but we plan to install TAPO in the cub.

Therefore I would like to kkow if we can :

- Check what is happening live on the club, bei ng outside (I assule yes, and the camera is available through a ckoud ?) - Or I need to setup myself a port opening on our router and have a recorder and DNS to access the camera from outside ? is the TAPO care subscription absolutely needed for this ? or Not and the camera is anyway accessible from the internet ?

- Have a a planning where I can enter the normal opening hours, and only record outside the opening hours ? Is that possible ? For recording and motion detection notification ? Here as well the Tapo care is needed or not ?

- On the notifications, the experience I have is that if you set them up on motion detection, then you receive tons of notifications as the camera notifies as soon as there is a motion detection ... IS the TAPO cameras allowing to send like 1 notification every 10 minutes for exemple, in order to limit the amount ?

Many Thanks !!!

Hi,
Please refer to the answer below, and hope they will help you.

1. Generally, once the Tapo camera is configured successfully and connected to the internet, you can watch the camera locally or remotely with the Tapo app if your phone has internet access, and there's no need to subscribe to the Tapo Care or open ports on the router.

2. If you need to watch the camera's live view page during the normal opening hours but do not record videos and record videos outside the opening hours, it's suggested to insert an SD card into the camera to store video recordings. In this usage scenario, there's no need to subscribe to the Tapo Care service.

3. The Tapo camera does not have the feature to send limited notifications, like 1 notification every 10 minutes. It will send notifications when detecting events. However, you can set a schedule on the Notifications feature to not receive notifications during specific time periods.

Best Regards
