Tapo C220's mic noises
I've use the C220 for 1 month, and found out that its mic is so bad.
It's like the noise reduction too much, makes the recording misses pretty much important sound.
The recording is attached to this thread, please increase the volume to hear the noises!

We will help on this case if you are willing to troubleshoot, and it would be appreciated if you can provide the following information for further analysis.
1. Ensure the microphone and speaker value is set to high value. You can go to the camera's Live View>Talk page, and tap the icon at the top right corner to adjust the microphone and speaker value.
2. Send me the video clips recorded by the Tapo C220 and Tapo C210 when they are in the same location to have a comparison.

I found same problem. i found issue that model 220 record sound so bad than model 210 and 200. I have 210 5 Ea, 200 1Ea and now just buy new 220 8 Ea. I compare between 210 and 220 sound found all model 220 found same bad sound problem. pls help to fix this problem.

Я отсылал два видео сделанных C210 и C220 в одном месте - в одно время и от одного источника звука. Служба поддержки ответила "Мы просмотрели видео и обнаружили что звук различается, имеются посторонние шумы. К сожалению данная проблема может носить только аппаратный характер"
Но мне проблема видится в том что если смотреть в VLC - когда идёт поток по протоколу RTCP - используется тип Аудио кодека PCM alaw что в C210 , что в C220 ( при одинаковой частоте дискредитации и т.д.), но окружающая онлайн аудио обстановка отличается. Такое ощущение в C210 - не включен в G.711 сам VAD , а в C220 - включен VAD и отсюда возникают такие фоновые шумы и "провалы" Дело видится в применение VAD , но к сожалению даже службе поддержки - не ведомо - что именно и как применяют разработчики. На данный вопрос - ни кто, не может дать ответ.

If you have updated the firmware of the Tapo C220 V1 to the latest one(1.2.1 Build 240822 Rel.42213n), and the audio quality of the camera is not as good as before, please provide the following information for further analyze the problem.
1. The firmware version was used on the Tapo C220.
2. A video showing the audio quality problem of the Tapo C220, and how you record the video.
3. The microphone and speaker volume are set on the camera.

Hello, I also have same issue as the op stated. Although the firmware is now V1.1.6 (as of today) but the audio quality remains poor.
Due to noise suppression the audio sound very un natural - - like muffled. The audio has too much base. During a speech even at 2-3 meters you can't make out what person is saying due too much noise cancellation.
I suggest please let us decide whether to use noise cancellation or not, let us record raw audio. This is only way to fix noise issue.
The mic gain option is useless, as it only increase or decrease audio level -- never let choose less noise cancellation // more noise cancellation.

The new firmware 1.1.7 is sent to your camera, you can update the firmware via the Tapo app and check if the problem will be solved.
