Hello,

I also would like to see this feature on Android 14. I saw that this should be possible in Andoid, but it does not seem to be the case, I cannot find the settings for this. This feature would be really usefull to differeitiate between the normal notifications (SMS, Signal, WhattsApp, calendar) and an intrustion warning.

Kind regards

M

The notification sound is the same for all cameras, which is a mayor problem. It would be so much better if each camera could just have a different notification sound, user configurable, this way we would know without having to open the app (WHICH IS SLOOOOOOOW!!) whether "the cat has entered the housee" or "there is someone at the front door".

Android 14, please enable a change notification sound for the app, the default is used by everything else. By camera would be best. Thanks.

On my phone the app can take 10 seconds to open. No, I don't need a new, better, phone. I just want to hear a different alert sound for each camera. My cat camera goes off 20 something times every day and it only detects motion when the cat flap moves, so it won't detect people. The front door camera is there to detect people when I'm not at home, so now every time I hear "ding-ding" I have to check the app just in case it was an intruder, even though usually it'll just be the cat using the cat flap. There's a good reason air raid sirens don't sound like the icecream van.

Ever heard of Aesop's fable The Boy Who Cried Wolf? Well, THAT is exactly what happens when you use the same alert sound for all events. "There is an intruder in your home!!", you check and then "Nah, it was just the cat". This happens 100 times and you end up ignoring the notifications "because it's almost definitely just the cat"... until an intruder comes and steals your property.

The app already shows a pop-up with the camera name, so what's stopping it from playing a different sound, since it already knows which camera it is??? I find it very disrespectful of TP-LINK/Tapo to fail to acknowledge this legitimate request, and to fail to state whether or not it will be considered for future implementation. This is beginning to get old and tiring. Please stop selling e-waste and fix your app already!!

It is completely idiotic not to have this feature. The camera is useless without it. You need to KNOW with a loud distinct sound if there is an intruder, not just a faint ding that could be any alert. Having (an actually relatively tame) alarm on the unit is pointless, as the intruder will simply know where the camera is, unplug or destroy it and carry on thieving whilst you sleep peacefully upstairs, undisturbed bya gentle ding!
