  @Am63

Hi,
Thank you for the case report, and please help confirm the following information for further analysis.
1. When you set the hub alarm to turn off but it's not when detecting motion, please click on a Tapo Cam>go to the Camera Settings>Detection & Alerts>Camera Alarm>Trigger Hub Alarm on the Tapo app, is it turned on or off?
Please turn it off and check if the hub alarms when the camera detects motion.

2. Have you changed the hub sound settings on the Tapo app>click on hub>Device Settings page of the hub>Siren>Custom Siren Sounds page, but the changes do not take effect when the camera detects motion?

Best Regards

If your hub alarm is turned off, but it continues to ring with every detection, there might be a few reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the problem:

  1. Check Alarm Settings: Verify that the alarm settings on your hub are   indeed turned off. Sometimes, users might overlook specific settings, so double-check to ensure the alarm is correctly disabled.

  2. Confirm Detection Settings: Ensure that the detection settings     for your security system are configured correctly. There might be separate settings for notifications and alarms. Make sure that the notifications are set up correctly and that only the desired alarms are enabled.

  3. Restart the Hub: Try restarting the hub or security system. This simple step can sometimes resolve software glitches that might cause the alarm to continue ringing despite being turned off.

If your hub alarm is turned off but still rings with every detection, there might be several reasons behind this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the problem:

  1. Check Alarm Settings: Double-check the alarm settings in your hub or security system. Make sure that the alarm is indeed turned off in the system settings. It's possible that the alarm is turned off in the app or control panel, but there might be another setting causing the issue.

  2. Restart the Hub: Try restarting the hub or security system. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve glitches or temporary software issues that may be causing the alarm to ring.

  3. Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your hub's firmware is up-to-date. Manufacturers often release updates to fix bugs and improve performance. Check the manufacturer's website or app for any available updates.

  4. Reset Hub Settings: If the issue persists, consider resetting the hub to its default settings. Be aware that this will erase all your customized settings, so you may need to reconfigure the system after the reset.

  5. Check for Interference: Verify that there is no interference or conflicting settings from other smart home devices or systems. Sometimes, other devices might be triggering the alarm inadvertently.
