@AlbZ So if all users install the home assistant app, the privacy mode function will be usable by all users, even shared?

@sgrover this feature is definitely needed, I hope Tapo introduced it soon.

Until then, I have a possible solution that may work for some people. You will require a Hub and a Button, I use a H200 hub I got with the doorbell and bought a S200B button of Amazon about £15 inc delivery.

In the app the account owner can set an automation sequence to turn on/off privacy mode, & delays can be added to switch the cameras back on, I believe an "if" command can be added so twisting the button increases the time of the delay but I haven't tried that yet.

This works for us as we don't have to open the app to change privacy mode, the button sits by the back door and when my wife pops out to the garden for a cigarette she presses it, hey presto 10min camera blackout, the other advantage is she doesn't have to remember to turn the cameras on again.

like I said we still need to be able to set account permissions for guests, this is such a basic feature it should have been implemented from the outset.

The button soluwon't fit everyone's situation, but hopefully some will find it useful.
