ER605 v2: is the wireguard setup for server only, or can the router be setup as a wireguard client?
I'm trying to setup a fast VPN service. I returned the v1 router for a v2... and now see wireguard is supported, but only as a server? ... I see no client setup.

As I've now tried configuring the ER605 as an L2TP and OpenVPN client, and seeing 97% performance loss in both (300Mb/s to 10Mb/s), I've been told wireguard is a solution, but the router seems to only allow setup as a server.
Are there any plans to allow client configuration in future firmware releases?

One other idea I had was to use an OpenVPN client but set "cipher none" so there is no en/decryption (which is what's slowing the router down). But, there are no VPN services that support that setting. It would achieve what I need.

Hi @blackburied
ER605 V2 L2TP VPN Throughput Encrypted is just 47.11 Mbps;
OpenVPN 21.70 Mbps.
It's the limitation of the hardware.
One solution is to disable encryption on L2TP server side.
Unencrypted L2TP VPN throughput can up to 864.65 Mbps

@Hank21 Do you know of an L2TP service provider that will disable encryption?
I tried both l2TP with IPVanish and OpenVPN with Nord, and performance dropped from 300Mb/s to 10Mb/s. See attached.

Hi @blackburied
No we do not provide information about 3rd-party provider.
I'm referring to build the VPN server on your own, for example use another ER605 as the VPN server.
I know it's not your requirement, but if you can not modify anything on the server, nothing else we can do on the client side ER605.
