Block possibility of accidentally powering the Tapo plug off
Hello,
I am using Tapo mostly for energy monitoring.
Big button for turning the smart plug on and off in Tapo app in my case does no good, cause it allows me to accidentally turn my whole circuit off.
Therefore, I am suggesting a functionality that'll allow to block current plug state (on or off) in the settings or provide an option to turn on additional warning before powering off the plug.

Hello everyone, regarding this feature request, we would like to understand your usage habits so our product team can evaluate the functionality further.
1. Do you want the power button in the app to be locked, or should the physical power button also be disabled?
2. In terms of accidentally pressing the plug's power button, could you share your experiences?
A. Do you often experience accidental presses? Does it happen when you're on app's homepage or on the smart plug's device page?
B. Or is this request based on a "concern" about the possibility of accidental presses?

Thanks for looking into this.

Ideally both would be configurable, but at least from my perspective, it's mainly the app that I'm concerned about.

For me it's a concern, particularly on the app homepage screen. This page can contain smart plugs that I both never want to turn off (like a server), and others that i regularly want to turn off (like a lamp). It's all too easy to press the power button when there are multiple on the same screen.
Like others have mentioned, I use this device specifically for power monitoring purposes, with no requirement for other smart features. For peace of mind, I'd like to disable the ability to turn it on/off remotely entirely.
Alternatively, I'd be interested in a seperate product that was specifically designed just to monitor power usage.

This is really needed and seems quite obvious, some plugs should be very easy to turn off, others more difficult
1. The power button in the app to be lockable (in the physical world you simply have a plug with no power switch or physical cover of some kind)
2. In terms of accidentally pressing the plug's power button, could you share your experiences?
A. Yes on using app the first time, did not realise it would just turn off with no warning. happen when you're on app's homepage page when selecting plug, so easy to do
B. Request based on a "concern" about the possibility of accidental presses? No based on real word issue, but for others it could be accidental press.

@Wayne-TP I think having the option to prevent the app power button from accidentally being pressed would be great. Myself, like the others, use these for power monitoring only. I have a server at home connected to one, and the information on electricity use is valuable. However, I am paranoid about accidentally pressing the soft button on the app and accidentally hard shutting the server off.
It would be a great feature for TP-Link to take this case into consideration and have the option to keep the device always on, no matter what. The physical button to me is not an issue. That does not need to be disabled (for accidentally pressing). It's protected enough in my configuration that it would be hard to press accidentally.
