But i'll recommend use the original power adapter or get the adapter with the same output.

I have a C200 that I want to mount in my motor home and power off the 12 V coach batteries. I did not see any firm answers here if I can power the C200 from the batteries. So I just did it. It has been working fine. Does not get hot or affect the performance of the camera at all.

  @dmatzen Is your 9V camera still working okay on your 12v supply. I would like to do the same thing. I have a car port that is remote with no mains electric. I have a solar panel MPPT and 12v - 110AH leisure battery. The output from my MPPT can vary from 11-14.4 vdc Tapo help can not answer if this voltage range will be okay to run a C520WS rated at 9v so hopefully your experiance will be helpfull.

  @Blenheim I am sure that Tapo support would never say it is OK. But my camera is still working just fine. And the supply voltage, like your application, varies depending on the charge of the battery and weather the charger is plugged din or not. And I have never noticed any heat issues with the camera. So I would say go for it...

hey, this sounds interesting. I'm going to do the same but I have some concerns when driving the car because the car's generator will raise the voltage to 14.2V which is almost the double of the nominal camera voltage.  What's your experience on this?

Still no issues with my installation. And just like in your car, the coach batteries in my motor home charge at around 14 volts. Also, the camera is powered on 24/7 365 days a year. So my camera has been running on around 14 volts for 6 months now.
