Can TP-Link Kasa Products bought from the US with 125V work in other countries with 220V wall outlet
Hello and good day!
I am Vince from the Philippines and I have been a TP-Link Kasa user for more than 5 years already.
Amazon recently began shipping to the Philippines to my excitement, so I ordered several Kasa products. As a careful customer who likes keeping up with technology, I made sure that the voltage ratings are compatible.
However, the products I ordered (EP10 and KP303) are apparently rated 125V - 60Hz 15A. So I did not plug them in just yet and decided to check my other Kasa items. For context, wall outlet voltage here in the Philippines is at 220V.
To my surprise, the HS103 smart plug that I have been using for years now is rated 100-120V ~60Hz 12A. It has been working perfectly since day 1.
Now I am just wondering if my newer products are also built to work with 220V but are not printed on the label to comply with US standards?
Based on my what I've read in other threads, KP303 should work with 220V even if it's rated at 125V. I haven't found anything on the EP10 just yet. My theory is that these products were manufactured at the same place and are made identically, but the printed details are customized to which country they will be sold (together with the plug itself).
Maybe anyone can enlighten me on this?
Thank you very much and stay safe!
Vince
