Model: Tapo L530E
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.9

I have just gotten the bulb and I am using the Tapo app and I also use google nest and iPhone . The light is great and works perfectly!

But I'd love to have a party or colour loop mode, where there is a gradual change of colour.

I've seen reviews of the app and light having this option but it won't show in my app.

how can I get this? And if this is no longer in the app what is a work around I can use to have this?

I don't even have this "Theme" option, and I'm using the latest software and firmware updates, look. Did they take it off? I wanted a party mode so much

@KermFroge
it may be mobile related.
write to the tapo, what mobile and what android vers. you have.
i had probl not seeing the off button (for party/relax mode) on my s20 (andr. 11) (and had to scroll the screen to see the edit button)
vers. 2.4.49 fixed that probl  on my phone.
But it IS very strange IF they have to take mobile brand and model to consider, when other apks do not need that - > work well with ALL brands and models. (mayby a better programing knowlage will help? )
How ever the party/relax modes are for now unusable due the very short time  1-3sec (my opinion) You need lot longer "changing time" to be more pleasant/usable. say at least 30 sec  to minutes.

I just got 2 L530E and I'm very disappointed that I, too, don't have the Theme button in my app. I have the app on 3 different android devices (1 Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, 1 Mi A2 and 1 Poco F3, all running android 11). I was looking forward to having a nice "aurora" effect with those bulbs (kinda like with the L920 led strip).

Very disappointing.

HW Ver. 2

App 2.4.49

Hello everyone,
We appreciate the feedback that you have provided regarding Tapo L530 Party mode feature over the past few weeks. We have some updated news about this topic:

Tapo L530 V2 or above version do not have Party mode(Theme) embedded due to V2 software reprogramming.

Up until now, Party mode is not in the Tapo L530 V2 software planning. While our team is exploring to develop some new features to achieve  multicolor scenes like Lighting Effect on L530 V2.

As the new feature is still under development and detailed effect is still uncertain, to set up more multicolor scenes or colorful ambiances, you could consider our smart Tapo Light strip like Tapo L900-5 or Tapo L920-5

Learn more details from Video : Tapo L900 5 unboxing and demo

Feel free to start a new thread in Feature request board or comment below with your expectations with light effects, and we would record your feedback for further evaluation.  Thank you.

@Solla-topee looking forward to the update. I purchased this bulb specifically for the party mode I see on YouTube. Surprised that it wasn't there when I installed it.

Hello   @Willax  @rbm77

As far as I learned Tapo L530 Lightening effect feature is still under 'planning' stage, it's not guarantee of this feature and implementation could take certain long time.

If you purchased a bulb particularly for party mode feature, you may check with the retailer about the stock of L530 V1 or consider some alternative devices, or the tapo smart light strip for home atmosphere. We appreciated your fond of tapo devices.
