Hello! I was looking to start with this install initially thinking this would be straight forward with a normal 3 way light. However, after opening up my 2 switches, wiring seems to be slightly different. Has anyone had experience successfully installing this unit to work using one switch to turn on lamp/fan that has separate pull chains to control fan speed or light on the fan itself?

It's probably the switch wiring that's different than you expect (the most common is no neutral because it's power through fixture). There shouldn't be anything special about a fixture with pull chains - power on, power off.
