@Wayne-TP Thanks for finally after these years picking this request! Personally made this request originally to be able to watch my Tapo cameras via Android TV app. I'm sure there are someone that would like to control sockets, but this original request was pure from watching my cams without hassle of 3rd party apps.

@Wayne-TP I want it to simply watch the tapo camera outputs on tv. A 4 x 4 grid like in the all with some recording features would be perfect. To make things easier, you could even consider adjusting the android app and porting it to android tv. Very eager to get this.

A proud Tapo owner of C325WB and C500 for now.

Would love to watch the feed from multiple tapo CCtv cams on a smart TV /connecting via WiFi. Having to deal w wiring would be too taxing for us technically challenged.

Hello, thank you for your interest.

When the TAPO doorbell rings, we can see who is at the door on the small screen at the bottom corner of the Android TV.

We can watch the past images on TV.

I am sure you can do this. I trust you.

Hello @Wayne-TP

Happy to hear that this is being worked on as a new member of the tp link fam.

1. It would be good to have the feed displayed on a bigger screen given that some use case for CCTV is for household caretaking too. There may be elderly household members that prefer to watch on bigger screens.

2. If the app on android smart TVs do proceed, it would be good to adopt the YouTube live player controls to help reduce the learning curve.

3. I similarly do not see the smart TV app to be a primary controller for the CCTV ecosystem, but rather a complementary feature. Though since most smart TVs are linked to e.g. Google home, there are smart controls that are linked to the mobile devices so the touch screen features are still available technically. But definitely, the main controls should be primarily  under the master household member's mobile device.

Hope this feedback helps :)

Complimentary to mobile phone. Easy view starting with a livefeed in a 4x4 grid. No need for detailed setting configurations or such. Live monitoring and watching recordings. Easy usage for elderly.

@Wayne-TP thank you for taking the time to consider this request. I am in agreement that a Tapo TV app would be super useful, not as much for the automation for me, but rather specifically the CCTV. If the TAPO app can view the cameras on the TV, it reduces the need for me for a third party NVR for constant monitoring feed. The TV is just much more convenient than the phone or laptop.

I am sure others would agree, this may be a starting point and if there is further interest, perhaps the other automation functions can be built out.

regards

Because this would allow the user to have a dedicated screen for displaying their cameras 24/7, similar to traditional DVR setups. Sure the user can manage the cameras from a phone or tablet, however it's much more convenient to view it on a larger screen
