i-spy is free and OK for viewing live but we need a proper desktop app for controlling the camera and viewing recordings. TP-LINK: the c200 is a GREAT camera - please produce some desktop software worthy of it!!

@Stella.Q

Dear TP-LINK. The i-Spy option is NOT a solution. Yes, you can see a live stream of the camera but NOTHING ELSE: You cannot modify settings, pan/tilt or view history. PLEASE find a proper solution.

The best option I have used so far is to use an Android Emulator. This wortks well but is time-consuming and resource-hungry.

So, again, PLEASE set up a proper Windows application.

Oh, and while you're about it: GET REID OF THE WATERMARK

VLC media player seems to work, however there could be a security risk with using it - in fact this could reach to the Tapo Cameras in general

the "stream" for VLC is as follows, all un encrypted with passwords/usernames in plan text:

rtsp://usernameemailaddress@emailhostname.com:@password.ipaddressofcamera/stream1

usernameemailaddress@emailhostname.com   is your email address linked to the tp link account - un encrypted in plain text

password is your password - un encrypted and in plain test

ipaddressofcamera is the ip address of the camera on your home network

all un encrypted for all to see

@Ojos iSpy is free only for local use. For remote use (that is what we purchase webcam for most of the time) you have to purchase an annual plan that start from 8$ a month for one server connected, 15$ for 3 server etc... It is really a bad news for all the buyers who thought they could check their webcams in many locations from anywhere on anything else than a mobile device. Really disappointed!

Is there any really free solution to check remotely from a browser Tapo C200 cams?

I just bought this device and was surprised that there isn't an app for PC which is very common now on most similar cameras like hkvision as well as even cheaper ones. I'm a bit disappointed with TPLink as i have their other products that are quite good quality and well thought off features. I do want to view and review the camera footages on a bigger screen and all they have now is just a work around to get that done. What's the rationale for not having the pc app???
