How will VLC work if the camera is on a another location? I have my camera on a location in another County. As the recorded videos are stored in the TP cloud i would guess there should be possible to access these through a browser. 8- )

I see (on a couple of older threads also, now locked) that many can't make it work on VLC via RTSP.

I have two C310, they were working well with VLC until randomly they didn't. I tried many of the suggestions (simple lowercase username/password, opening ports on the modem, rebooting etc), nothing worked for me.

In case it helps, by luck I think I found a solution, it's weird:

I open VLC, open network stream, enter rtsp://myusername:mypassword@myip/steam1 (with :554 or without). Every time nothing.

I open VLC, enter rtsp://myip/stream1, enter myusername and mypassword. Nothing.

However, if I enter rtsp://myip/stream1, enter myusername and leave password black, then it asks again for password, I enter mypassword. It works!

While I can view my Tapo C200 through the mobile app, I would also like to use a PC to view it. Is there some way I can view it using my PC?

I had several cameras (C210) all working fine with RTSP and the TinyCAM App as I wanted streaming without the disconnection issues when not using the same network. All was fine until a recent firmware update. Now, the camera is detected and connected to the App but there are no RTSP streams being shown with a timeout message. The camera status page in the app shows the correct IP etc and that the camera is online. I have a suspicion that the new firmware disables RTSP if there is an SD card in the camera (I seem to remember that I had a message about video streams being affected if there was an SD card in use). Is this really true that having a memory card inserted as a standby recording method prevents RTSP now?

  @Stewart

Maybe it's SD card problem(band, filesystem), i'm streaming whole day on rstp on local network and works fine, sometimes have disconnectioin (like device reload-not restart) for 2-3 seconds, one-twice per day. Last firmware, no SD card.

  @DawidM Thanks David.

I edited my message as it is Tapo C210s giving issues.

There is another thread I just found which was about this exact issue which was found to be formware I believe,

@DawidM I can confirm that it is indeed SD Card problem.
In my C200 V3, Firmware version 1.1.22, rstp only works when there is no sd card inserted.
I was pulling my hair struggling to use rstp streaming for last 2 hours, only to find out its a firmware bug sad.
