@metropical This App has recently become available. NOT from Kasa or TP-Link. But maybe worthy of checking out.
Perhaps create a isolated sub-net and put all Kasa items on it for additional protections.

@RyanEverhart789 ME TOO, Desktop app seems to be a required mark of product launch and support

@metropical I have a couple Kasa smart switches but I have gone with another company for cameras. Without a proper desktop app or web interface tp-link was not even in the running (Glad I checked before buying). The phone app is great for a quick look or alerts but if I experience an actual security event I am not trying to identify anything on a 5 inch phone screen. I have large high resolution monitors for that. What is the point of a 4K camera on a 5 inch screen?

I just bought a Kasa Smart Camera. Guess what, like many posters here, I was and still am very disappointed that tp-link has made no actions since day one of this thread, for the last 6 years!
Why don't they simply confirm that they do not intend to create desktop computer apps? If I had known this would also work on Windows, I would not have bought it!
I will keep using this one. BUT I will not recommend this maker or the product to any current and occasional desktop users.

This app is very limitied much like the app someone developed 2 or 3 years ago. This app does let you to turn the original Kasa plugs on and off. But it doesn't let you look at or set the timer or clock setting on the plugs. And it doesn't support the newer Kasa Tapo plugs.
Using a phone or phone emulator such as Blue Stacks are still the only viable options.
