Sharing devices between multiple accounts
Hi,
Is it possible for multiple Kasa accounts to access the same device? My husband and I would both like access to the TP-Link smart plugs but they are already linked to his account and it doesn't appear that I can add them to mine without removing them from his.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
C.

@Solla-topee Unbelievable! You are advocating handing over credentials to someone else to share. The first rule of security is never shared credentials. How could this be so complicated for you? Just allow sharing with a guest account, so that you could turn it on or off as needed. The scenario is simple. you have a guest at your house you want them to be able to access the smart devices. When the guest leaves you want to disconnect them from the account. Is it really this complicated for you guys to understand?

It is amazing that TP-Link makes such nice hardware but completely fails when it comes to managing security and privacy with their devices.
How can they even dare to suggest it is reasonable to give one's account credentials to everyone who might need to operate a household device!? It is simply outrageous that they present this as a suitable option.
TP-Link: don't fool yourselves into thinking this bad software is suitable for your good hardware! Invest the time and effort needed to properly delegate and operate a safe and secure smart home! We need to have the ability to support multiple users in multiple households, each having an appropriately delegated set of privileges and permissions.
Anything less is bad software.

@Eme2 why do you have your washer and dryer on smart plugs though? If it's to save phantom power, the outlets themselves still need to use power at all times in order for them to work.

I can't believe that such a basic feature doesn't exists. Or that it hasn't been resolved after being identified by customers OVER 4 YEARS AGO. I'm returning the doorbell since it's clear customer feedback isn't making a difference and there is NO plan to fix the issue.
