Smart switch installed

Installed smart switch but continues to trip ground fault. Can switch be installed with a neutral that used on a ground fault?

What's the model number for your switch, is it HS200?
Netural should always connect to netural wire.

@Makabo.53 by code, you need to connect a white wire to bunch of connected white wire with no current on them. 2 black wires should be connected to 2 black in walls, which should be line and load. It looks like in your case Line/Load and neutral wires are switched. Use tester or call electrician.

@Yokushka The original post was from 2018. By now, they have probably found an answer (or burned down the house by connecting the neutral to ground and bypassing the breaker).
