Hello Community,

For may small business, I'm trying to set up a wired subnet with the TP-Link Omada router ER7212PC, to isolate the network traffic between my laptop / desktop and back-up NAS (WesternDigital wdmycloudex4100) and family NAS (Synology DS214play). I've tried to search the internet, but sofar I haven't succeeded in finding specific guidelines for this.

REQUEST:
Can this community point me to a workflow (link) to set-me-up for this?

BACKGROUND:

After the initial (default) set-up of the TP-Link router, I have the following situation:

  1. My laptop (WIN10) & desktop (MacOS 15.3.2), with WiFi disabled, can talk to the outside world.
  2. My desktop can see the DS214play in the Finder, but can't access via browser
  3. My laptop can't see the DS214play in the list of Network devices
  4. Both deskyop & laptop can't access DS214play nor WDmycloudEX4100 via browser (using their IP-addresses, see below)

The current set-up is:

  • The TP-Link router is connected to the ISP internet via a (Ziggo) ARRIS TG2492LG-85 modem router
  • The TP-Link router is connected by wired connection (wire in LAN port on ARRIS and in WAN port on TP-Link).
  • The ARRIS router has IP 192.168.178.1
  • The TP-Link router has IP 192.168.0.1
  • The WDmycloudEX4100 has IP 192.168.178.74 (from previous set-up)
  • The DS214play has IP 192.168.0.2 (from previous set-up)

Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to offer.

Hi @GJL-GEO

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

You can use some guides:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/794?countryCodesStr=&searchFromDate=ALL_TIME&language=ENGLISH&sort=&status=&dir=desc&tagId=638&labelIds=8760&isMatchAll=true&keyword=

In this link, you should find two useful ones. If you need a VLAN, see the third.

If you need to block, based on the ACL, you refer to the second.

By default, VLAN interfaces, if you are using this, you can access these devices freely. But I am not certain if you are using it.
