Model: Tapo C500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.2 Build 250108 Rel.40063n

After installing this latest firmware, my camera AGAIN, drops to offline almost immediately.

This happens particularly when panning starts.

I've changed my router to channels to 1,6 & 11 with no success.

The router is only 4 meters away and my other 2.4 GHz cameras function perfectly and they are even farther away.

This has been an ongoing & frustrating experience for many, many months.

I've beta tested other firmware with partial success but this latest firmware isn't right.

I've ordered a new mesh node to see if that will work but I'm not too optimistic. I'm beginning to think that there is a flaw with the wifi module on this series.

Hi,
You can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot if the camera keeps going offline.
What should I do if my Tapo smart device keeps losing connection or going Offline?

If the problem remains, please confirm the following information.
  1. What's the LED status on the camera when it goes offline? How do you recover the connection?
  2. When the camera is working, please go to its Device Settings > Device Info page, tap the Wi-Fi icon, and send us the RSSI value.
  3. What's the model number of your router? Is it connected to the router's Wi-Fi directly rather than other AP/RE?

Best Regards

So I located my new mesh node router 1.5 meters away from the device. RSSI went down from 71 to 51!  Great news I thought .

The camera connected almost immediately and I thought that my troubles were over. It worked flawlessly until I got up in the morning.

"Offline" once again greeted me! What the hell?

It's once again going offline and the loss of signal reverts to offline when the camera pans left or right.

Now I've spent more money on a new mesh node router to "fix" this camera!

I'm done with this TAPO stuff. Never again.
