Model: Tapo S200B
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Alexa still cannot discover my S200B switch i had working perfect in my Tapo app/account.

But if I normally add a new device via the Tapo app after linking to Alexa, the new device will then automatically show up in the Alexa app. I removed it to diagnose a problem and then wouldn't show up in Alexa after readding in Tapo

Is there a server issue that's why Alexa can't discover existing devices or is the Tapo skill broken? Or is there a way to force the "adding of device" event without actually removing a device and re-pairing just so that Alexa will think there are new Tapo devices.

I tried it on both iOS and Android and it's still the same.

Is it just that the auto-detecting feature isn’t working? Have you tried asking Alexa to discover devices, or manually adding them in the Alexa app?

Check the cloud connection of the smart button, cloud connection failure makes the smart device cannot be found or functioning properly on the third-party platforms. You can test this by creating an automation in the Tapo app, set the smart button as the trigger [When], check whether this automation runs properly.
