Model: ER706W
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.2 Build 20240726 Rel.77184(4555)

My system is based on one ER706W and two EAP650 outdoor (1.2.0) devices, managed by Omada controller linux version 5.15.6.7. All devices with the latest firmware. The ER706W with one of the EAP 650 wireless connected works great without any problem in MESH. The scond EAP650 gives me a real problem. First of all it will not adopt wireless while it is in a reasonable distance. During adoption it ask which it should join, the EW or the 650, signal is aprox -60dB. After a while it faiils repeataly with both. At least i tried a wired connection and it works but the 5G gives me problems.. The other both devices working 5G channel 40 and are both 2-3% utilized. The problem 6and outsite 50 is alway on another channel like 32 and report an interference of 60 - 70 %. No devices are able to connect 5G to these EAP650. All devices are in a triangle with a distance of 40 feet. We are living rural on a certain distance of our neigbours and sometimes is see only a weak 2.4G signal. There are no airports or military eqipment in the neighbourhood and no other microwaves of other things arround. I have renewed the firmware of the EAP650 conform the procedure and is not a solution. Please help.

Hi @abmantel

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

Do you have a video to illustrate this issue?

Move it closer to the AP. Will it get a better signal? Does it join the Mesh?

@abmantel During the problem it was not possible to connect, even within a distance of 15 feet. After reloading the firmware the problem stays. BUT, after taken the unit down and did a hard reboot it was possible to join the EAP via wifi. After replacing at his position it still working fine. The remedy looks like to be ---reloading the firmware and a factory reset---. Thanks for you response

This does not really matter.

If you are seeing isolated, you should check the distance. That means the distance is too far and it cannot join the root AP.

If this is not a problem with the 706W, you need to move this case to the EAP page.

@Clive_A  How can I be nice If i tried to post the issue on the EAP place. After nearly one hour typing YOUR site say it's no topic.

You are not transferring this topic internally, your site is not handling this issue properly, provide no service and then you are asking me to stay kind.....you are funny.

You don't have to stay kind to me. I don't really care. I care about how the case is resolved and if there is any error in the verification and logic.

I also don't know what you have experienced with the site. Not even sure what you mean by "no topic". I expect nothing.

The problem only started recently and you begin to see an isolated status. That's more of a problem in your environment. The channel utilized does not really matter or reflect a thing in the mesh. It does not represent whether the mesh connection is good or bad.

And it is an EAP-based problem instead of the ER706W which isn't the mesh bridge but the mesh root.

The clear way is to fix the isolated status first which is commonly caused by distance. And after the change, monitor it and see if there is any other problems.

Believe it or not. I have done troubleshooting over the phone and emails before. I am not that dumb enough to think it in the right direction.

If you really believe that's an issue with the router, not the EAP, you can replace it. This model has not been around for over two years. It's definitely under the warranty if you purchased it from authorized sources.

I would not believe there is a difference in the router which does not correlate to the problem here.

Wireless, itself, is not perfect and can be easily affected due to various reasons. 80% of wireless problems are physical and of the essence of radio frequency.
