Model: EAP650-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20240830 Rel. 50742

I have system containing one ER706W V1.0 and two EAP650-outdoor managed by an Omada controller version  5.15.6.7 (linux version). The devices are about 50 feet from each other. The location is rural and there are no airports, militair facilities, radar or other things around.

The problem: at the start the system works great without any problem for weeks. At 20/01 I get the following message

By inspection, I saw that the Interference from one of the units was 83 percent and was frequently isolated and disconnected.

I have disconnected the unit and placed the unit close to the ER706W. Then I reloaded the firmware according to the procedure for it. Afterwards a factory reset (pin in hole) and the unit worked great for a while, but after an hour I had the same situation. I have posted the issue on the ER706W topic list but they are telling me it's an EAP issue and should be posted there. Here it is, on the EAP topics. It's no issue with distance, if I placed the EAP near (5 foot) the ER706W I have the same situation. The ER706W and the other EAP650 are working great thus it looks like a unit related issue. What the to-do now. If it's a defect of the unit, please provide me with the proper documents so I can claim warranty. If it is something please provide me with the proper procedure to solve this problem.

Note: wireless for only 2.5GHZ works fine, the internal communication seems to work.

Hi  @abmantel

Is the other EAP650-outdoor the signal source of the problematic one?

Is there any power outage?

To identify if this is the EAP's hardware defect, you can test like this:

Swap the installation location of the two EAP units and see if the issue is coming with the location, or the unit itself.

If it comes with the location, please make sure to troubleshoot below:

    1) Move the Mesh EAP closer to the uplink EAP;

    2) Avoid obstacles and wireless interference between the uplink EAP and mesh EAP;

    3) Change the channel of the uplink EAP, please test on different channels;

    4) Choose different uplink EAP units.

    5) Make sure the firmware version of the EAP and the controller are up-to-date.

If it comes with the EAP unit itself, you may contact your retailer to check the warranty.

Wish you a happy life and smooth network usage!
