Newbi Questions
So I just got three KE100 valves and a hub and I've set them up to work on my radiators, all showing up and cotrollable. And I thought OK let's program them now to work without being handheld all the time.
But I think I must be doing something wrong.
1. Is there really no way to copy programmes from one day to another, or from one valve to another?
I work from home a few days a week and in the office the others, do I really need to program each day individually for each valve? So to setup these three valves I will need to program 21 days one by one.
OK checking my own work as I write this and I see you do have a sync function for days, but I don't see one for different valves.
2. So I then think, no worries we have scenes and smart functions not perfect but should help.
My plan is to set up a basic program for every day and then add a 'scene' like 'work from home' or 'at office' and just run those as required.
I look at the Smart Actions, OK makes sense, I can press a button (trigger) and then my valves will do what I want. But NO the only triggers I can use are
- 'Time' useless because I want to be able to tell them what to do and when to do it.
- 'Device' useless unless you by a bunch of other KASA devices.
- 'Arrive/Leave BETA' well this might work but perfect.
You really need the abilty to copy settings between units, at least as a base and then you can modify each as required. Also just being able to set a schedule in the hub for all the valves would be a plus.
Also the abilty to click a 'widget/icon' on your phone and have it load up a scene would be brilliant. Just think, it's a cold morning, you are warm in bed and don't need to get up, so you grab your phone and just click the widget labelled 'sleeping in' and the system knows to delay turning on the downstairs radiators for a couple of hours and also leaves the bedroom radiators as they are for a couple of hours too.
I can spend time messing around but I had hoped to install this at my elderly parents house as they are already happy with being able to just press a button on their smart phone to change things like turn on the lights etc, being able to do the heating as well would be great for them.
I am hoping that I can do some of this in Home Assistant but I do not think trying to introduce 80 year olds to Home Assistant is really a good idea.
