Hello.

I have just been disappointed with another manufacturer's smart radiator valves; I bought them because they use Matter / Thread (Thread Border Routers) to effectively create a mesh network and give me coverage for spart radiator valves throughout my house. The system works fine but the quality of the valves is somewhat poor.

My question is simple:

Can I use several Kasa KH100 hubs to cover the house and control all the KE100 radiator thermostats from the same Kasa app / Alexa / Apple Home?

I use a Deco system to provide whole house Wifi.

Are TP-Link going to follow the Matter route?

Regards

Robert

Each KH100 hub can connect up to 32 KE100. As long as the devices are online, you can control the KE100 using the Kasa app, whether you are on a local network or accessing it remotely.

For control via the Matter platform, local control on the same network works. However, to enable remote control, you will need a compatible Matter hub device from the corresponding matter platform.

Thank you Wayne.

The bit I'm struggling with: Is it simple to use more than one hub, please, to get whole house coverage?

The Tado system I have uses a few Thread Border Routers to give the thermostats access to the Deco WiFi network, so I'm assuming that the KH100 will do a similar job for the KE100s? Then I can add one appropriate hub for an alternative controller like Alexa etc.

Thanks

Robert

Another quick question:

Do the thermostats continue with their schedules should the WiFi or internet connection fail please, i.e. are schedules stored locally on the thermostats?

Thanks again.

The number of hubs required depends on where you plan to install the KE100. If multiple thermostats are located close to each other, the KE100 can connect to the same hub. Additionally, you should consider any potential interference in the environment that might affect the hub's signal range. Normally, a hub has a coverage distance of approximately 7 to 10 meters.

KE100's smart control (schedule) feature continues to run even when the internet is down.
