Hello all,

I am a newbie to Tapo - migrating over from Ring.
I have ordered the C520WS and am preparing for installation.
I am going to be mounting the camera on a corner bracket on the corner of my house.

My question is what size drill bit do i need to drill both the power and ethernet cable to indoors?
I want to drill just the one hole, and the ethernet cable is aprox 16mm as the widest part.

Any idea what size drill bit is best?
Can i get away with using a 16mm and threading the ethernet cable before the power cable, or would it be wise to size up?
Hoping someone has done this before and can share their knowledge, thank you.

I have just installed a C510W and used a 11.5mm drill to get the power plug through the soffit board. If the RJ45 needs 16mm that should be enough as I am thinking the ethernet cable plus power jack would be less than 16mm, assuming you push yhe RJ45 connector through first.

Thank you so much.

I'm hoping the wifi will be good enough. I have a mesh device inside the wall I am drilling and have 1gig speed.

If so I already have a long 12mm bit so will use that.

I'll check wifi reception prior to drilling.

Thank you and very Christmas

You're welcome. I assume the power plug will be the same between these models. I measured it with vernier callipers before fitting.

I too have a wifi mesh (TPLink) and the main router is on the ground floor and the camera on the soffit at 1st floor level and I get get good connection.

Good luck and the best of the season to you too.
