Model: Tapo L530B
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hi,

I'm about start to start a small automation project.

Thinking of buying Tapo Bulb (L530B) and Tapo H200.

Since the Tapo Bulb (L530B) are Wi-Fi and no Hub required. Will they be connected to my router and utilizing by router bandwidth.

Or Instead they will be connected the Hub, so that my router is not clogged with the number of bulbs I attach.

I want a confirmation, that they will be connected to the hub and not the router, if I use a Hub.

Tapo L530 is a WiFi device and does not require a Tapo smart hub, it connects to the 2.4GHz WiFi directly.

Regarding the network connection type of a smart device, you may check its specification on the TP-Link website.

Thank you for a quick response.

So that means that buying the Hub won't make any difference.

If I buy 4 to 5 bulbs, it will be connected to the routers and clog up my network?

I don't think having four or five smart bulbs in a normal router WiFi network is going to have much of an impact on the stability of the network. the Tapo L530 is a normal WiFi device and is not one that will consume high bandwidth.

If your router's WiFi network is unstable, I suggest you contact router support to check it, or consider setting up a dedicated 2.4GHz WiFi network for smart devices.
