- Can you view the camera live from anywhere in the world?

Yes. Remote management is supported once the camera is setup properly and connected to the internet.

 

- What is recorded on an SD memory card, can it be viewed remotely?

Yes.

 

- When motion detection occurs, is the message to the phone a text, a photo, a video with audio, or all of them optionally?

App push notification. App push notification with a snapshot (Rich Notification) is supported with Tapo Care subscription. 

 

- is there a tapo app for windows?

No. 

 

- Can the camera work while charging with the USB adapter? Can the adapter be permanently connected?

Works but not recommended. If the camera is used outdoors, there is a risk of water ingress when plugged in. Camera does not have a waterproofing design for this use case. C425 has overcharge protection, but if it is continuously charging while in use (consuming battery), an overheating issue may occur and affect the battery life. 

 

- For the battery to last 300 days, what configuration should it have?

300-day battery life is based on TP-Link laboratory tests with 230s of use per day. Increased usage of 360s per day reduces battery life to 180 days. Actual battery life may vary due to device settings, router specifications, usage, and environmental factors.

 

- How long should the battery last for these conditions:

  . recording on SD, turning on lamps for one minute and notification of movement of people.

  . watch live video and audio for one minute a day.

No such data is available and no relevant tests have been conducted.

 

- How to configure two phones with the application and the same camera.

Camera can only be configured under one TP-Link account. To use the camera on two phones, you can either log in with the same TP-Link account or share the camera (limited access).

 

- more than one camera does not require a hub? Do they connect directly to the Wi-Fi?

Tapo C425 is a 2.4GHz WiFi device. No hub is required.

 

- The camera is for outdoors; can anyone turn it off, reset it to factory settings or remove the SD card, or is there any protection for this?

When the camera detects movement within the frame (such as unknown objects, people, vehicles, etc.), it will immediately send a notification to the user and trigger a sound or light alarm to help scare off potential intruders. If you choose to use the Tapo care service to record motion detection video, even if the camera is damaged, you can still capture the scene before the damage, and users can view the detection video on the app at any time.
