Tapo C325 Camera Image Quality
Tapo C325 Camera Image Quality
I have four different tapo cameras and recently purchased the C325. I was surprised that the video quality of the image captured was blurred. in video you can see the fox running past the camera, its not very fast as the local fox has one poor leg. However the quality of the image is more than blurred its just like a brown smear along the grass. If you look at a still of me not moving all is fine??
Be very interested in feedback. Many thanks Bob

@BobWillis
Any progress over this issue?
I think will be helpful if there is option to limit the minimum shutter speed for situations like this.
Can you tell me how other Tapo cameras are handling situations like this? Right now I am experimenting with C320 and C325 cameras.

@P2000 I have provided videos and information to Tapo over a few weeks. They made a couple of suggestion on camera settings away from the standard setting which has not helped. They have made a firmware update since the original post. Due to the holidays in China they have been delayed in coming back to me and still waiting. The key thing for me is the clarity of the image when captured for security. Movement of people and animals like the fox blurring do not give usable video or stills than can be captured

Thanks for the reply. I have the same priorities like yours. And experimenting for few days with C320 and C325. So far it seems like they have all set to auto and priority for bright picture. Which in dark situations means low shutter, which = blur. Also they seems to be heavy on noise reduction and stream compression which also blur the scene with more action.
So maybe they could provide some mode for movement/action priority instead of absolute brightness.

many have been complaining about the compression issue including me but tplink is ignoring it

@Kaizoku All I can say is they have been responsive to me so far but have not resolved the issue yet. I have had other units which are working fine and but did want the benefits of the new camera which have not materialized as yet. Quality of image is the main point of any camera. I am giving their technical team a little more time before I want a refund

they did helped me resolve the detection issues with firmware update but the compression / bitrate issue is a completely different one which no action has been taken

@Kaizoku sorry of you did not see my original images and video. They did the firmware update but that did not fix the image blur on stills and video. Probably the same as you issue. I assume the compression you mention may be the issue. If I can't see a video or still image and recognise a face the camera does not meet the specifications

I have the 320WS, some problems I have is inaccurate detection category like motion, vehicle, people and the compression issue like unclear car plates numbers.
It is annoying but still acceptable at the moment.
I did see your photo, that brown smear instead of a fox running. I have not encountered that yet because cats usually walk so it was quite clear for mine.

@BobWillis hello, I saw your videos and movements are pretty blurry. In dark scenes, the camera has to lower the shutter speed for a brighter and less noise image but results in blurry movements. Most security cameras have this problem. The C325WB doesn't have infrared vision so you must use the spotlights to reduce blurry when something passes through the camera.
