Away mode. There is a problem / deficiency on the iOS version where the Away settings for a device can be set but if the Away mode isn't activated these settings aren't remembered - leaving the Away dialog and reentering it shows that the settings made have been forgotten and the default values applied.

 

This means that it is only possible to set the Away mode up literally at the point that you want to apply it - it is impossible to setup in advance. It also has to be done for every individual device because a Device Group cannot be used to apply schedule, away settings etc.

The Away mode on Tapo smart plug/switch/bulb allows users to set Repeat effective dates (days of the week).

 

If you want to set the away mode in multiple periods, it seems like the ability to have multiple settings, similar to the schedule. In this case, consider adjusting the subject of this thread to better reflect this request request. 

 

As for the feature request that wants to control away mode in groups, please start a new post for feedback to better gather other users' suggestions and opinions on this requirement.

  @Wayne-TP The point is - and it's nothing to do with applying it for multiple days - is that the Away 'rule' is not saved in the same way that other rules can be saved and then enabled / disabled.

 

The general point / request is that wherever a group of devices is created it can be used in exactly the same way as a single device - Shortcut, Automation, Away, ...

This isn't only an iOS defect, it is on Android too. I would love to flip between home and away mode for my cameras, but since there isn't any settings or schedule you can really save it doesn't work. I would love to have more notifications when away than when home for example. I'm home, generally I can respond to something quicker than if I'm away.
