Load Balancing / traffic routing
Hi,
I have two active WAN connections (WAN and USB Modem).
The "WAN" connection is an internet (fiber) connection with no traffic limit.
The "USB Modem" connection is a mobile internet connection with limited traffic.
I have Load Balancing active and the "USB Modem" connection as a backup.
As the "USB Modem" connection has limited traffic, I wanted to configure my ER605 so that in case of failure of the main connection, when the "USB Modem" connection is activated, it only provides internet to a single device on the network.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
Regards.

For this, you can create two Policy Routes, one for your special device that allows failover, the other for all your other devices that doesn't.

This should be closer.
Enable both WAN and WAN1. WAN will be the unmetered connection
Disable Load Balancing:
Enable Pri and Backup WAN links:
Your highest priority rule will be for the special devices that you added to 'ipgroup1', this allows them to go out either WAN, but prefer WAN over WAN1, because Mode=Priority
Configure a route rule for ALL LAN devices out WAN as standard. Mode=ONLY prevents them from using WAN1

I'm not using my 605 in Standalone, so I can't show exact screen, but this is what it looks like under Omada control (since this is possible under Controller, you should be able to do it in Standalone mode):
Keep in mind you don't really want load balancing, just link backup. It could be that by enabling load-balancing, you don't have the failover options presented. You will also want to 'Always link primary' to make sure when your unlimited connection comes back online, it reverts ASAP.

@d0ugmac1, yes I have my setup as you exemplified.
My "usb modem" connection is only active when there is a failure in the main "wan" connection. As for this, everything is fine and working.
But when in case of failure of the main "wan" connection and when the "usb modem" connection becomes active, I wanted this connection, as it is a connection with limited traffic, to only grant internet access to a single device on the network.
This is the setup I'm looking for help with.

@d0ugmac1, thanks in advance for your help.
It becomes a little difficult for me to follow these steps because my menus are different. I don't use Cloud Controller Management to configure the ER605.

@d0ugmac1,thanks.
I understood the logic of the settings you sent.
They are already implemented, later I'll tell you if it worked!
Regrads.
