Slow speed on access points EAP225
I'm having issues with configuring the AP's and Controller settings to achieve the best performance.
Current setup goes as following.
-- EAP225 AP 1
Huawei Router Router B575 -- Omada Controller --Omada POE switch -- EAP 225 AP 2
-- EAP 225 AP 3
Our business is located in a very secluded location and best speed is usually between 80-150MBPS. Due to a recent incident we had to repurchase and reinstall our whole setup.
However currently the AP's are only reaching half or 1/3 of the speed that the main router does even though the setup is exactly the same as before.
Any help would be apprciated!

Do NOT connect your switch through the OC200. Connect the POE switch directly to your router, and hang the OC200 off it's own POE port. Reason for this is that the OC200 ports are 100M not 1GbE. IN short you'd have a piece of garden hose spliced into your firehose.

Hey
If you have re-installed the network its probably best to start from the router and work outwards. namely are the APs getting full 1000mbps connections to the LAN? If you jack into the POE switch from a laptop do you get the full speed? Basically is this only WiFi issue or a LAN issue...
I would do some iperf3 tests over the LAN and WiFi to see if any of it is causing your slowness, but honestly if you are getting 20/40mbps then its a wierd number.. if it was 10 / 100 something definite like that then LAN yes.. odd speeds could be WiFi or the internet connection
Post any results you have and happy to analyze.

Appreciate the feedback!
So I tried connecting it directly via LAN to the POE switch and I got 20-30mbps and to compare I also tried connecting it directly to the main router and got about 100mbps.
Any thoughts?

Take it you connected a laptop to the switch? what did the LAN speed read at in windows, was it 100 or 1000?
Also what model is the switch and is it managed by the OC200? From what you say it sounds like either the switch, or the cabling between them. Make sure you are running Cat5E or Cat6 cables, older cat 5 version prior to 5e will cause this also, swop them out if you have spares.

It ran In at 100mbps
POE switch model is TP-Link TL-SG1005LP
I'm using a CAT 5E between controller and the switch.
Any chance it could be the controller?

@d0ugmac1 SOLVED!
Yes thank you!
This corrected the problem!
However for some reason It only improved some of the access points, will have to double check on this
Much appriciated!

Happy days, glad you got sorted in the end!
Yeah the controller only hangs off the switch and talks to the APs, no actual traffic should go through it.
The other AP, just check its connected at 1000mbps to the switch and not 100, sometimes this can be caused by a dodgy cable that reduces you speed, you can check the connection speed on the controller interface.
