Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20220512 Rel.76748

I have been having issues for some weeks now with DHCP.

It keeps stopping to work properly. Its most prevalent with wifi, devices because they are switched on/off more often. But it also happens with my wired desktop.

Setup is simple:

Omada Controller version 5.4.7

OC200 Omada controller v1.0 firmware 1.18.3 Build 20220715 Rel.56221

ER605 Router v1.0 firmware  1.2.1 Build 20220512 Rel.76748

TL-SG2210P v3.20 firmware 3.20.2 Build 20210806 Rel.55686

EAP245(EU) v3.0 firmware 5.0.6 Build 20220429 Rel. 44315

LAN config:

Gateway IP: 192.168.0.254

Network Broadcast IP: 192.168.0.255

Network IP Count: 254

Network IP Range: 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.254

Network Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

VLAN 1, no other VLANs in LAN

IP range 192.168.0.10-192.168.0.150

Maximum active clients ~20

Network config hasnt really changed since initial implementation and has worked well for over a year since the beginning I built it. Wireless coverage is excellent.

But in july '22 first symptoms started. New devices (iphones & ipad) failing to connect to wifi. Authentication went OK, but they didnt get IP address. I could see devices announced on Omada interface, but no traffic.

Later my devices wouldnt connect either after coming back home from vacation. Same symptoms. Authenticating, but no IP address. Rebooting Omada all devices didnt help. So I ended up resetting all devices and rebuilding setup.

I have tried the following:

1 rebuilt configuration: only helped temporarily

2. issue returned. so i disabled DHCP on omada and switched to wired QNAP as DHCP server. Then it worked flawlessly.

3. rebooting Omada router fixes issue, but only for 1-2 days. then its same story again.

4. keeping up to date with firmwares, but brought no changes

I cannot find anything in the logs that indicates an error with DHCP or clients connecting.

So right now I am at a loss...

Hello @Johnd39

I'd like to add the updated solution here. TP-Link has been actively updated this solution post to fix the DHCP issues. The new beta firmware ER605(UN)_v1_1.2.2_Build 20230208 (Beta) is the current available solution, you may take your time to try the Beta firmware and confirm whether your issue can be resolved.

Meanwhile I have been in touch with TP-Link support.

They have checked settings and built a script on my TL-R605 router to log DHCP events.

After the script was running, it was just waiting until DHCP issue started acting up again. After that happened I shared the logs with support.

They are debugging and working on a beta firmware to try out.

Right now I am awaiting this beta release.

  @DarkHelmet

I've been having the same problem over the last few months.

Rebooting the system temporarly fixes the problem but the issue comes back. I've had the system for about a year but the problem started after the last firmware update.

I'm going to downgrade to version ER605(UN)_V1_1.2.0 Build 20220114 from ER605(UN)_V1_1.2.1 Build 20220512 and see if the problem goes away.
