Hi all from Raglan in NZ.

I'm trying to improve the wifi coverage in my house and am looking at adding a couple of access points.  I'm quite new to home networking, but have had a bit of a look and the following APs seem to be within budget and scope.  Happy to take advice on other models.

I need two access points.  One in the middle of the house, ceiling monted, and one outside which is right beside a outside, non attached studio.

For the ceiling mounted AP Omada EAP620HD Dual-Band AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Access Point, 802.3at

For the outside mounterd AP TP-Link Omada EAP110-Outdoor N300 Outdoor Wi-Fi Access Point, 1 x LAN, PoE 3.1W

Will these two models work well together?  Should i put them on the same SSID? any other set up tips?

thanks

@thecussen hello, from what you wrote, you mix WiFi6 with old 2Ghz devices. I would not recommend going for eap1xx outdoors. If you buy eap6xx indoor, then you would be much more satisfied with eap610-outdoor, if too expensive, then buy eap225-outdoor which connects over 5Ghz, 2Ghz is way to overcrowded today. If you do not have wifi6 devices at all, buy instead WiFi 5 which is twice cheaper (eap245 indoor as example and eap225-outdoor).

Would 100% agree with this statement!   Buying 2.4ghz only devices at this stage is a waste of money, its a congested airspace and the performance will be abysmal by most standards.

The 225 / 245 are still a feasible options if you want decent speeds at a cheapish price
