Recently purchased a Kasa Smart WiFi Plug Slim with Energy Monitoring KP115.

I've been running a constant 455w through it 24/7 which should equal around 11kW/h per day

Yet at random times of the day its seems to double its monitored kW/h all of a sudden even though its still at a constant 455w leaving the daily average around 19kW/h

Example from today up until around 6pm the total consumption was reading 8 kW/h, by 7pm it has shot upto 16.9 kW/h

Any idea what could be going on? it appears to be fully upto date.

Any feedback is much appreciated.

You could try a different appliance connected to plug like another lamp / PC and see if energy consumption looks normal on Tapo app.

Please make sure Tapo app is up to date and help confirm some information below:
1. May I know the model number & power consumption of the appliance that connected to plug (better attach a label of your home appliance or purchase link of it )

2. Please share us a photo of Energy monitoring page on your Tapo app (for example 1.5H , XX kWh)

Hi. This is happening for me too. it seems to be doubling exactly when the wh reaches 8,192 wh, which happens to be 1,024 x 8

I have a few of the plugs and it's happening on them all if the usage > 8.2kWh in a day
