The thought crossed my mind, will it be bad for these bulbs to be turned on and off with the switch? I'm wondering if over time it would damage the electronics. I realize that they won't be connected to wifi while turned off.

Sorry for the delay.
Normally, there is no need to add a separately switch for the smart bulb.
And if there is one already, in order to turn on/off the bulb over Kasa APP, the switch needs to be on all the time.
