A simple question:
If the mains is lost and HS110 is started up again, is it remembering the state? (On or Off)?

I can't remember for sure but I think it's something you can set in kasa. Easy to test - unplug it and plug it back in.

It may be able to be set but mine is either set to or defaults to being off.

I am wanting to monitor my refrigerator - this could be a bad idea if it defaults to off.

If it can be set does anyone know where?

Is the Android app the best way to access the settings?

Just had a look in the app and could only see it supporting the last state for bulbs.  I can't recall for sure but I think that feature was removed for the sockets - which makes them unsuitable for mission critical things like routers or freezers.  You could use an aftermarket app to make sure it's always turned back on after a power outage - works for a freezer but not if the socket is used to control it's own router.
