So other than "new chip solution" (providing more concurrent sessions and slightly higher throughput) and USB to enable 3G/4G modem are all other differences firmware related?

Can someone explain the differences between V1.0 & V2.0 hardware? Trying to find out why a new firmware is available for V2.0 (& V2.6) but not V1.0 Is it because it is not yet tested (on V1.0) or...
