@WESPL To provide another data point, I have two of these TP-Link switches, and they both suffered this problem immediately after upgrading from v1.0.2 to v1.0.6. I downgraded both of the switches...

Also, I downgraded from 1.0.6 to 1.0.2 last week and my ethernet ports still don't work. I'll have to try the exact procedure you specify to see if that works for me. Thanks for experimenting and...

@vGeek79 Sorry, didn't see your edits. I'm seeing the same high CPU usage and the same fan fault.

Any update on this? I'm having the exact same problem after upgrading to 1.0.6 and then downgrading back to 1.0.2, except none of my ethernet ports work.
